Balance & Strength

As we age, if we want to keep strength, balance, mobility and agility, and yes, playfulness, we have to go looking for experiences that build those qualities. That sounds simple enough. But it isn't, is it?

Life gets full. Motivation wanders. The gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it gets wide. That's exactly why I built this studio the way I did. I’m here to help.

my story

Becoming a single mom is what eventually led me to offer online health coaching. I wanted work that let me cook for my kids, be home when they walked in the door, and build a career that aligned with my values. Working from home made sense but it wasn’t the whole solution.

The truth is, I spent years being critical of my own reflection. Not dramatically, just the quiet, persistent kind of self-criticism that becomes so familiar you stop noticing it's there. I was fit, I was moving, and I still lacked appreciation for what my body could do because I was too busy cataloguing what it looked like.

Yoga didn't fix that overnight. But it gave me a practice of returning… to my breath, to sensation, to the present moment… and slowly, the critic got quieter. What grew in its place was something I hadn't expected: genuine delight in what this body is capable of. Pride, even. That shift didn't come from getting thinner or more toned. It came from paying attention differently.

That's the *work underneath the work* in everything I teach.

Now I help other women (primarily women over 40, most of them over 60) find their own version of that shift. Together we build wellness habits that feel supportive, sustainable, personal and - dare I say - pleasurable. We work toward strength, steadiness, and a life that feels more playful and grounded.

“Practice becomes habit. Habit becomes rhythm. Rhythm brings us home to the present moment.”

How I teach

I don’t believe in pushing through pain, absent minded workouts, or one-size-fits-all fitness. I believe in curiously meeting you where you are, building slowly and creating a practice that you enjoy, one that adds value to your life.

Discernment is a skill. Realistic expectations are a learned art. My job isn’t to push you harder, it's to help you hear yourself better and and then to trust what you hear.

My classes are warm, structured, and mindful. We laugh. We breathe. We get down on the floor, and we always get back up. Over time, the practice and consistency changes everything about how you use your body.
